Business

To assist our customers in increasing their profitability, we produce various reports on their purchases. We then discuss these reports with bodyshop principles to ensure that their purchases are in line with their sales.

These discussions usually take place at business review meetings that are held on a regular basis. During these meetings, all aspects of the business are discussed from stock purchases through to proposals for updating equipment eg spraybooths.

Our technical representative is available when required to discuss any operational changes that may improve the overall profitability. These changes can vary from introducing a new product or product system, to altering the workflow of the workshop.

Stock Management

In order that our customers can achieve the best profitability from their purchases from us, we offer a stock management programme. This programme is kept flexible as each customer has its own needs. The format can consist of the following elements:

  • Stock Appraisal - Stocktaking of existing stocks to determine value and possible areas of overstocks

  • Purchase Assessment - Where three months worth of previous purchase invoices are examined to determine actual usage and to set meaningful stock levels. This also establishes any special requirements.

  • Stock Control Systems - A Mitchells' representative visits once or twice weekly, as required, to reorder stocks at the pre-agreed levels and by consultation, a stock delivery would follow. This reduces paperwork to an absolute minimum.

  • Constant Overseeing - We ensure that only current stocks are held, and conduct regular stock cleanses to ensure that the customer has no redundant stocks. We can also conduct stock-takes at pre-agreed intervals to establish a sterling valuation at both trade or at cost, and report accordingly. Our representatives are not commission based thereby eliminating the most common cause of overstocking.

  • Impressed Stocks – In some cases, we offer our customers an impressed stock which is only paid for on use. This working stock provides a buffer should there be an unexpected increase in the level of business.

  • Customer Controlled Ordering - Our prompt delivery service allows customers to order their own stock, and also backs up the Mitchells stock management system.
